Autumn is a time for harvesting and preserving fruit and vegetables. I love the crispness in the early morning air and the colours of the turning leaves.
It is also a good time for gathering ideas and storing them up for winter days when you may need to be indoors due to bad weather.
I imagine these ideas and any words written as being like money in the bank – something you can draw on if there is a submission call by a magazine or publisher.
Collect any articles, postcards, photographs, magazine pictures or items like scraps of fabric or feathers that might fit with your idea. Is there a piece of music that goes with it? Give it a title. Don’t feel you have to do the whole thing in one go. Gather your ideas and then let them compost for a little while.
